Many lakes and stillwater fisheries have been affected by problem growth of algae, water weeds and poor water quality this year. Although this may have been triggered by low rainfall and unseasonably hot weather, the underlying problems are usually due to the availability of excess nutrients. However, during the autumn/early winter an opportunity presents to tackle the CAUSES of the problems using Microchalk. You would be wrong to think that any old, cheaper product will do just the same job - no it won't. Microchalk is a special, finely-ground form of calcium carbonate, chemically the same as some cheaper products. However, coarser products do not dissolve completely like Microchalk does (so our customers confirm). So, they might be cheaper, but you waste money on un-reacted product, and effort and energy on the application process ! - false economy ?
