Aerators

We only supply high quality aerators made by the Linn company of Germany (www.linn-geraetebau.de) Is it worth taking risks with your valuable fish stock by using cheap aerators ?
All our aerators have the same build quality, and are COMPACT, LIGHT and EASY TO HANDLE

We can supply a broad range of floating aerators for fisheries and fish farms. Each aerator has it’s own particular strengths, and we can give guidance to choose the aerator most suited to the duty.

As a generalisation, those aerators whose mechanism is to spray water above the surface of the water, are approximately 50% more efficient than those aerators which entrain air bubbles below it. As a guide, up to 1000 g oxygen dissolved per kW input power, versus 600g respectively (at 10°C)
The aerators differ in the pattern and strength of water discharge. What they have in common is having been developed and rigorously tested on Linn’s commercial trout farm. The thousands of aerators that have been sold around the world bear testament to the build quality and reliability of these aerators (referrals available).
Furthermore, they are particularly suited for control by an electric time switch, as they are fully effective as soon as they are switched on. In this, they differ from other forms of aeration, such as diffused air / compressors.

our floating aerators can therefore be used during the dusk-to-dawn dip in dissolved oxygen levels that often occur.

Or, why not consider automatic control, with the new Aqua-Control One, from the Linn company (see Aqua-Control One)

AquaWheel

This range of aerators creates a powerful current of aerated water, which can be up to 100m long ! (see Technical Data below)

AquaWheel 0.55kW in action AquaWheel 1.1kW – extremely powerful !

The AQUA-WHEELpaddlewheel aerators work by considerably increasing the surface area of the water, giving much improved exchange of gases between the air and water. They do this by breaking the water into tiny droplets and flinging them up into the air. The droplets are then able to take up oxygen and discharge to the atmosphere polluting gases, such as carbon dioxide. An added benefit is the increased circulation of the water, which distributes the oxygen-enriched water. AQUA-WHEEL requires almost no maintenance. The paddle wheels turn slowly, and are only slightly submerged in the water, so in most cases a protective screen is not required.
The AQUA-WHEELaerator is available in a variety of sizes to suit individual requirements. Common to all sizes is the exceptionally buoyant float. With AQUA-WHEEL, we have made ease of use a priority. AQUA-WHEEL is relatively light-weight, so making it easy to install in the desired position. Practical carrying handles are moulded directly onto the sides of the float. Fastening and anchoring could not be easier. This can be achieved either by means of a fastening rope in the form of a V, or by a single rope attachment, or even by a locking mechanism on rods. This allows for assembly and dismantling on your pond. Materials AQUA-WHEEL is driven with a high

quality, slow running electric motor (IP55). The motor is mounted above the water surface. Power from the motor is transmitted by a simple tooth belt drive (except the 0.25 kW, where a gear motor is used). This results in reliable operation, long life and minimal energy consumption. Paddle-wheel-aerator aerator for aquaculture, fisheries and ornamental lakes, seas and canals Aqua-Wheel 0,37 kW with brush wheels (generating a strong flow). The wheels are connected to a one-piece stainless steel shaft held by sealed ball-bearings. For the mountings, shafts and screws, only stainless steel is used. The float and the motor cover are made of robust, UVresistant polyethylene. The paddle wheel has been specially developed for aeration function, maximising both the transfer of oxygen, and the dispersal of waste gases. The shape of the wheel and the paddles guarantee optimum water circulation and distribution with minimum power requirements. Its design creates a powerful current, making this aerator especially valuable where flow is required. The paddles are robust and durable, and can be replaced quickly and easily. AQUAWHEEL is supplied ready to use, complete with cable and motor-protection-device.

AquaPilz “Mushroom” aerators

These aerators all direct and disperse water above the water surface in a “mushroom” spray pattern. They are extremely efficient in operation, and are available with submerged or surface motors. They are particularly suited for use where the proportions of the lake are similar, ie approximately square or circular. They are both similar in effect and efficiency, but each has it’s advantages. Depending on the power of the motor, they can spread the aerated water in an area up to 55m (180′) diameter The submerged-motor version is itself mostly submerged, and is thus very unobtrusive when switched off. It can also be used when the air temperature is below freezing to keep water ice-free. AquaPilz with surface motors have a lower capital cost, and are an ideal way to oxygenate water inexpensively and reliably. . They are all robustly made, and have stainless steel bar screens (apart from AquaMini, which is aluminium) which are not prone to blocking. Standard bar spacing is 9.5mm, with narrower or wider available to order

De-Stratifying Aerators

The deep water of lakes is often cold and oxygen-poor.  Sometimes, in the warmer months, the lake can stratify.  Thermal stratification takes place where the surface, warmer water, floats on top of the denser, cold water, and doesn’t mix easily.  This can cause serious problems.  Being isolated from the surface, there is no effective exchange of gases with the atmosphere.  Consequently, toxic gases such as methane, hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide cannot escape, and the bottom becomes starved of oxygen.  Not only does this area then exclude fish (as it is toxic) but the healthy breakdown of dead organic matter cannot take place.  So, black toxic mud steadily accumulates from dead leaves, algae, fish waste and anglers baits.  This not only forms a reservoir of nutrients to support algal blooms, but can cause a catastrophic deoxygenation and loss of fish stock if the mud suddenly becomes mixed with the main body of water (this sometimes happens in the summer or autumn, with a sudden fall in atmospheric pressure or a sudden cold snap).
These aerator types can prevent these problems by continually bringing deep water to the surface.

Simply attach bar for operation and let device down to the ground of the basin. By help of the operating bar, the exhausting device can drive on the ground. I don’t understand what you mean here – ‘operating bar’ ?

Deep pump aerator
… the solution for oxygen enrichment in deeper waters and lakes. Draws the water from the deeper pond zones to the surface, enriches it with oxygen and mixes it with water at the surface! This pump also mixes colder deep water and warmer surface water.

The pump component can be hung beneath the float down to a depth of 5m. All that is required is a normal buried drain pipe of nominal 150mm diameter. This pipe is available in different lengths, and can be cut according to the existing water depth. Simply attach one end of the pipe on the pump outlet, and the other to the underside of the float using the pipe clamps provided.  For additional security, the pump is attached to the float by a special steel wire rope (included).
The deep pump aerator draws water from deep to the surface. The way the water is ejected at the water surface depends on the outlet type preferred, selected at the time of ordering.  The simple pipe outlet gives a directional jet.  As an alternative, if the conical deflector type is chosen, the result is a ‘mushroom’-shaped fountain pattern, like that produced by the AquaPilz submersible.
The pump used for this aerator is the same as the Pipe Pump L3.  For technical specification, please refer to the Pipe Pump details on page 18 of the brochure.

AquaJet

AquaJet is derived from the highly successful and reliable AquaPilz design. It differs by having a specially developed, adjustable deflector on top of the aerator. This focuses the fountain into a powerful directional jet. Although this current is less powerful than AquaWheel aerators (watt for watt), it is suitable for use in icy conditions. Thus it can play an important rôle in keeping areas ice-free. Like the AquaWheels, it is particularly suited to longer fisheries. It is available with a choice of 4 motor sizes.

TurboJet

This aerator has several strengths, including virtually silent operation. It is available with the option of 4 motor sizes, each creating a powerful water current. Low water pressure behind the impeller draws air from above the water surface. This air is broken up into small bubbles which are then entrained in the water current which can be as long as 90m (nearly 300 feet).

Aqua-Handy, the handy, portable aerator, weighs only 12 kg and can be installed quickly and easily in the chosen place. This type of aerator is ideally suited to tanks, circular pools or even small ponds. In addition, Aqua-Handy is deal as a spare to be used in emergencies and at peak periods. Aqua-Handy To protect the fish this aerator is equipped with a conical, selfcleaning stainless steel screen fixed round the propeller. Aqua-Handyis virtually silent in operation, and no splashing occurs. All you have to do is hang AquaHandy in your pool and plug in. The aerator is equipped with a submersible motor made from stainless steel. The apparatus comes ready for use complete with able and plug. The motor has an integral thermal cut-out. This aerator works like the ”Turbo-Jet“. Air is sucked in along an air pipe onto the propeller where it is thoroughly aerated below the water surface. Good oxygenation is thus maintained.
